How to open your browser's developer console and look for errors
If you're experiencing issues on our site, checking your browser’s developer console can help us pinpoint the problem. Here’s how to open it and look for errors—no matter which browser or operating system you're using.
Step 1: Open the Developer Console
Depending on your browser and device, use one of the following methods:
Browser | Windows Shortcut | Mac Shortcut | Alternative Method |
---|---|---|---|
Chrome | Ctrl + Shift + J |
Cmd + Option + J |
Right-click → Inspect → Console tab |
Firefox | Ctrl + Shift + K |
Cmd + Option + K |
Menu → Web Developer → Web Console |
Edge | Ctrl + Shift + I |
Cmd + Option + I |
Right-click → Inspect → Console tab |
Safari | (Mac only) | Cmd + Option + C |
Enable Dev Tools first (see below) |
💡 Safari Users: If the shortcut doesn’t work, go to Safari → Preferences → Advanced → check “Show Develop menu in menu bar.” Then use Cmd
+ Option
+ C
.
Step 2: Look for Errors
Once the console is open:
- Click the Console tab (if it’s not already selected).
- Look for any messages in red—these are errors.
- You can copy the error text or take a screenshot to share with us.
